So since having Bailey I have had people come up to me and ask me funny questions. A few months ago I was at the check out line at Kohls and a lady was telling me how beautiful Bailey was. She was commenting about Bailey's hair and I said "Oh you should have seen it when she was born." She looked at me all funny and asked, "Are you her mother?" I said yes and she just gave me the most confused and sad look I have ever seen! She said, "Wow it's like a child raising a child." There was so much I wanted to say to her like I am married and I am 22! It's okay if I have a baby! But I was so shocked by her response, I just looked at her...smiled...and walked away. I looked back and she was giving me this look like she wanted to take Bailey away from me!
Just the other day I was working out with my friend and an older man kept talking to Bailey really nice and kept making funny comments to me. He said, "I had a baby when I was about your age, I was about 16 then." I just gave him a confused look and he asked, "How old are you?" I said 22 and he said, "Oh, never mind, you look a lot younger." I guess what sparked this post was today I had another lady stop and ask me if I was Bailey's mother. She said something about how girls are having babies younger and younger. I think I need to wear a tag whenever I go out that says, "I'm 22, and yes...I am her mother!" So I won't get all of these funny looks/questions. I guess to make myself feel better I just wanted everyone to know that Bailey is in good hands! No need to worry!

How annoying! I get that sometimes... When I was pregnant with Caleb, the nurse asked if I need a planned parenthood pamphlet. That's just one story! That's frustrating though. But we all know you are a wonderful mother!!
Amber you are such a good mother! I am sure you will be grateful one day that you look so young! Too funny.
You are way too nice. If I were you, (obviously I do not have your problem) I would think of some TOTALLY rude comment to say back. For example: my sister really got sick of people looking at her kid and saying that it was ok, their baby was bald until they were two. At first she would smile and walk away and then she got sick of it and started telling them that he had cancer and was going through chemo (which was true and not really rude, but not at all what people expected to hear). I'll think of something for the age factor.
That would get really annoying. I actually had someone ask me the other day if Danika was mine! Sure she LOOKS like her daddy, but he wasn't the one to give birth to her! Right after I had Danika, I had someone ask me if she was my first and I said yes. She looked at me and was a bit confused and made the comment that I waited really late to start having kids! I was 24! Some people are extremely naive. You look fantastic and Bailey always looks happy so you must be doing something right! :)
Oh, wow. I can't believe some people. It's amazing how people can be so blunt and rude to total strangers. By the way, so excited I found your blog. Bailey is getting so cute! Love the army crawl video!
People say the dumbest things!!!!!! When I was at ASU and huge pregnant with Stanton my finger was too fat for my wedding ring, and people would stare at me, and once I heard some people whisper, "Oh that poor girl."
Then a few months ago, I had Stanton and Noelle at the mall and I was babysitting my friends daughter, and two girls walked by and said, "No girl should have that many kids."
Doesn't it just make you wanna scream!
Rude!!! I guess it's a good lesson for the rest of us to think about what we say before it comes out of our mouth. You are a great Mom and I wish I looked young and cute like you still!
That's hilarious that you get that so often...take it as a compliment that you look so young!
I can't believe people have said that to you! It's definately a compliment because you do look young, but not too young to have a child. Yeesh!
Just wait until you have 4 or 5 kids and still look hot and young!!!! They will all just wish they looked that young and good!
People are so rude!!! I want to hunt that lady in Kohls down! I have no doubt that you are an amazing mom. Hey, it's better to look too young than too old. You'll be glad later :) Check out our blog for some big news!!!
Haha Amber that is so funny. I don't know how I would handle those situations, but I can't believe people say stuff like that to you. A sign would be pretty funny. I bet you would get a lot more comments.
Man Amber! What are you thinking girl...having a baby when you are married! You must be crazy! No just kidding. You must look pretty dang good. Hopefully you will keep looking young the rest of your life! We love the crawling video. Every time we see a video of Baily we can't stop laughing.
Amber this is mom, one time I had all of you kids at the mall. We were eating a snack at the food place, some men in suits were eating. I heard them say they cannot all be hers, I bet she runs a daycare buisiness! So you keep it up girl. You will be young for years to come. Enjoy the comments, they do not know what they are talking about!
I get that all the time. When we were registering for baby stuff when I was pregnant with Jameson (my oldest) we came around the corner to hear some one saying "did you see that little teenaged couple registering for baby stuff? So sad." I was floored. I wanted to scream "I'm 25!" but I restrained myself. Then my mom had to take me to the hospital to have Jameson because Klint was as work and couldn't get out. We had the whole floor talking then because they assumed I was a teenager cause I couldn't wear my wedding ring. I got so sick of it I actually asked if I could put a sign on the door that said, "I'm 25 & married and my husband is on his way so get over it." but I didn't. You should see the looks I get now with 2 kids. People are stupid. People tell me I'll be grateful for it some day, but only time will tell. Just know I TOTALLY feel your pain.
